CNC Machinist
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating machines within established standards. You will review specifications to determine setup procedure, dimensions, and machining sequences. Your duties will also include loading CNC programs into the machine control consoles by entering commands to retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions from database.
Other responsibilities of the Machine Operator position include:
oPerforming necessary adjustments, attachments, and assemblies according to setup instructions
oManipulating controls and entering commands into the index cutting tool to specify a set point
oObserving and listening to machine operation to detect malfunctions
oAdjusting machine feed and speed, and changing cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions
oMachining materials other than metal such as composites, plastic, and rubber
